Off with its head!
by Susan from SVM Interiors Ltd
The post is going to be short today; my house was broken into this morning and it slows you down a bit dealing with the annoyance of it all. I knew I should have written the post last night!
Anyway, I really like this space in the photo below, my only issue with it is the animal head. I’m getting really tired of seeing dead animal heads adorning walls-everywhere-and it’s a trend that doesn’t look as if it’s going away anytime soon. It’s got to the point where I won’t Pin any interior images with them in. I like the interior structure and simplicity of the fireplace; color blocking the rectangular section in yellow works brilliantly. The animal head looks surreal jutting out of it and it’s certainly a statement; it’s that organic and non-organic contrast that works beautifully. But, can’t we start looking for another organic object that’s not a dead animal, as majestic and beautiful as it is, I can assure you it was more beautiful and majestic with a heart beat.
What do you think?

The room is beautiful..but i just couldn’t deal with those poor little eyes following me around.
I agree Cindy. They belong in hunting lodges, well, actually they belong alive and not on any wall. Thanks for the feedback.
I feel your pain. Burgled in the last month. And could not agree more about the colour blocking AND the animals. It’s grotesque.
Agree. That is for the feedback.
Thanks for the feedback!!
